Rothwell Local Priorities

Below are your local Priorities as agreed by your local NPT at a recent PACT meeting - these priorities are promises made by your local NPT. Please read the news pages for updates and information about how these priorities are being addressed by your local team.

Belle Isle

Priority

ASB in and around the ginnell from Belle Isle Road to the BITMO community building on Broom Cross, every evening from 6pm until 11pm.

 

Response/Action

There have been very few calls to the police since the New Year.  With the nights now becoming lighter, Rothwell NPT PCSOs will be increasing their patrols and will take any reports of ASB very seriously.

 

Belle Isle

Priority

Nuisance Quad bikes along Newhall Road, Newhall Chase and into Middleton Park Woods at the back of Manor Field Hall, from 4pm until 10pm on weekday evenings and all day on Saturday and Sunday

Response/Action

There have been numerous calls to the police reporting nuisance motorcycles and quad bikes in the area and unfortunately this is likely to increase as the weather improves.  However, local officers are aware of this and will increase their patrols, especially on lighter evenings and at weekends.

The police off-road bikers are aware of the issues and will endeavour to show a presence whenever it is possible. 

Over the past few weeks, there have been several Section 59 warnings issued to the riders and vehicles have been seized.

 

 

Belle Isle

Priority

Speeding vehicles on Raylands Way and Sharp Lane, close to the school

Response/Action

Officers have been making regular patrols of the area which has recently resulted in the issue of two tickets and a report for summons for speeding.

Regular patrols will continue in the area.

 

Lofthouse

Priority

Anti-social behaviour at the Children's Play area on Green Lane from 5pm until 8pm each day

Response/Action

As a result of the Lofthouse PACT meeting on 4 March it was requested that the priority is changed to the Children’s Play Area on Green Lane, as ASB has been an issue previously.

So far, there have been no calls to the police but with the evenings becoming lighter, the local PCSOs will be increasing their patrols in the area and will stop and advise anyone causing ASB.

Middleton

Priority

Anti-social behaviour near to the garages on Bodmin Street every evening from 4pm to 9pm 

Response/Action

Rothwell NPT PCSOs have maintained their patrols in the area, although there have not been any problems reported recently.  They will continue to patrol the area and advise anyone causing ASB.

 

Middleton

Priority

Anti-Social Behaviour around the shops at Middleton Park Circus on Friday,Saturday and Sunday evenings from 6pm until midnight.

Response/Action

Before the New Year there had been several calls to the police but these have reduced.  However, with the nights becoming lighter, it is anticipated that ASB reports will start increasing again, so PCS’s will be stepping up their patrols.

Anyone who is stopped by officers who has been causing ASB will have their details taken, be given advice on their behaviour and moved on.

Middleton New Forest Village

Priority

Speeding and dangerous driving on Willowdale, Boulevard Drive and Topliss Way.

Robin Hood

Priority

Anti-social behaviour involving groups of youths gathering outside the One Stop Shop on Leadwell Lane on Friday and Saturday nights from 6pm until 10pm

Response/Action

There have not been many calls to the police in recent weeks.  However there have been a few reports of youths gathering outside the shop and asking customers to buy cigarettes and alcohol for them.  These youths identities are known and they have been advised and moved on.

Customers are strongly advised not to buy children cigarettes or alcohol as this is a criminal offence and you will be issued an £80 fixed penalty fine.  Anyone selling alcohol or cigarettes to anyone underage will also be heavily fined and reported to the licensing authority.

Local PCSOs will maintain their patrols of the area and will treat any reports of ASB seriously.

 

 

Robin Hood

Priority

Speeding vehicles on Leadwell Lane, weekdays between 4.30pm and 9pm

Response/Action

Rothwell NPT and Road Traffic officers continue to patrol the area and will issue fines when necessary.

Rothwell

Priority

Anti-social behaviour in Jail Yard car park near Morrisons, on Friday and Saturday between 6pm and 11pm

Response/Action

There have been more calls to the Police from members of the public and staff at Morrisons and Subway, reporting anti-social behaviour from groups of youths in the Jail Yard area.  The police are aware of the identities of many of these youths and are working closely together with the Leeds Anti-Social Behaviour Team, Youth Services and also the local schools.

As a result of Operation Drawson, ASB warning letters have been Issued to named youths and they have been spoken to and advised in the presence of their parents.

Security staff are being encouraged to take an active role alongside PCSOs to enable them to tackle the problem more effectively
