Interpreters and Translators Service

West Yorkshire Police has recently changed the way it uses the services of interpreters (both face to face and telephone) and translators.

Applied Language Solutions has been awarded a framework agreement to provide qualified and vetted interpreters and translators to organisations within the Criminal Justice Sector (CJS). Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunal Service, the Crown Prosecution Service and Her Majesty’s Prison Service will also make use of the new agreement.

All linguists booked through Applied Language Solutions for MoJ assignments will be allocated work based on the tier that they are assigned, following an independent assessment by Middlesex University. This will ensure consistency and quality of services provided throughout the framework agreement. This requirement includes linguists who have previously provided their language services to the sector, are DPSI qualified and registered on other professional linguist databases.

Linguists will not be considered for work for the police or any other MoJ partner unless they have first registered with Applied Language Solutions. In order to be considered, linguists should check the following site www.linguistlounge.com where full details can be obtained.
