Police Helicopter X99
Have you ever wondered what the police helicopter is doing over your neighbourhood? Well now you can get information as it happens, by following the new West Yorkshire Police Air Support Unit (ASU) Twitter account.
@WYPHelicopter has been set up to take over from the existing helicopter (call sign X-Ray 99) Activity Log on the Force website. By 'following' the account you can get real time updates to your handset / desktop / laptop. A rolling Twitter feed will still be available in the place of the X99 Activity Log.
John Whittaker, Head of the ASU, said, "Air support has become an essential part of modern day operational policing.
"We are committed to developing modern technology to provide the best possible assistance to the police service in it's fight against crime and the reassurance of the local communities we support.
"The Activity Log is one of the most popular pages on our website, and by branching out onto Twitter we are hoping to reach more people who are interested in seeing how we police from the skies."

In the meantime take a look at our video filmed at ASU.
