Ward Area - Horsforth - Set 26th January 2024

Lead Sergeant - PS 2430 Jenness

Lead Area Problem Solving Officer - PC 1358 Russell

  • To address concerns about speeding and antisocial use of vehicles throughout the ward, especially in the vicinity of Low Lane. We will attend Low Lane and other main routes within Horsforth with the Speed-Indication Device, on various days and times to gain a better understanding of this issue. 
  • We were requested to monitor parking around local schools at drop-off & collection times. During term-times, we will check the street surrounding local schools for any vehicles parked in a manner that could present a hazard to pedestrians & other drivers.

Update February 2024:

  • We have visited Low Lane several times with the Speed-Indicator Device, issuing tickets/warning letters as appropriate.
  • As of September, we are once again visiting our local schools at drop-off and collection times to ensure safe parking. We have spoken with a handful of drivers already to educate them on parking safer. This will continue throughout the academic year. 

Ward Area - Adel & Wharfedale - Set 9th January 2024

Lead Area Problem Solving Officer - PC 1941 Grabowski

  • To address concerns about speeding and antisocial use of vehicles throughout the ward. We will utilise reports from members of the public, highways speed survey data & our own operational data to identify roads where the speed limits are not adhered to. 
  • Combat Anti-social behaviour within the Holtdales and specifically surrounding Asda. We will identify those taking part in antisocial behaviour and work alongside partner agencies to reduce the amount of incidents.

Update February 2024:

  • We have attended key roads in the ward such as: Arthington Lane, Pool Bank New Road, Kings Road in Bramhope, Moor Road & the A660. Several drivers have been dealt with by ticket or verbal warning as appropriate. 
  • We were successful in our bid for the Leodis Team to be assigned to Holt Park. The Leodis Team is a specialist team of Police Officers that can be deployed to areas of concern, with the aim of reducing a specific type of crime or Antisocial behaviour. Calls for service reviews are showing a decrease in antisocial behaviour in the area, which has also been commented on at the January 2024 PACT meeting. 

Ward Area - Otley & Yeadon - Set 26th February 2024

Lead Area Problem Solving Officer - PC 5338 Wilkin (Otley) & PC 5250 Williams (Yeadon)

  • To combat dangerous/inconsiderate parking around schools in the Yeadon area. We will conduct regular patrols of local schools at drop-off/collection times, educating any drivers found to be parked in a dangerous manner. 
  • Obstructive parking on Kirk Lane. We will conduct regular checks of the Kirk Lane area on our patrols, issuing warnings to drivers, or where this is not possible, fixed penalty notices. 

Update February 2024:

  • We have attended key roads in the ward such as: Bradford Road, Pool Road & The A660 with the Speed-Indication device. Several drivers have been dealt with by way of ticket or verbal warning as appropriate. We have also conducted a number of Multi-Agency operations with the likes of DVLA, DVSA, Taxi Licensing & Leeds City Council's Serious Environmental Crime Teams to detect vehicle crime, as well as defective vehicles being used on local roads & putting the safety of others at risk. 

Ward Area - Guiseley & Rawdon - Set 16th February 2024

  • Address concerns around possible drug-dealing at several locations throughout the ward. We will gather intelligence submitted to us, develop it and look to action it as appropriate, to disrupt the trade of illegal drugs in the area.
  • To address concerns about speeding, obstructive parking and antisocial use of vehicles throughout the ward. We will utilise reports from members of the public, highways speed survey data & our own operational data to identify roads where the speed limits are not adhered to. 

Update February 2024:

  • Over the past few weeks and months, Officers have disrupted the supply of drugs in the area by taking part in proactive deployments into the area, seizing several vehicles linked to drug-dealing & making a handful of arrests. 
  • We have attended key roads in the ward such as: Netherfield Road, Ings Lane, Back Lane, Green Lane & Carlton Lane with the Speed-indication device. Several drivers have been dealt with by ticket or verbal warning as appropriate.

Ward Area - Headingley & Hyde Park - Set 27th February 2024

Lead Area Problem Solving Officers – PC 4297 Hemmingway & PC 4264 Hanmer

  • Enforcement against drunk & disorderly behaviour along the length of the 'Otley Run' in Headingley. Reports have been recieved of drunk & disorderly behaviour associated with the 'Otley Run'. We will work alongside partnership agencies to enforce the current Public Space Protection Order (PSPO).
  • Combat drug-dealing on the streets of Headingley. We will continue to progress our ongoing operation into supply of illegal drugs in our local neighbourthoods, making use of intelligence to identify Cannabis farms, applying for warrants to search and then executing these, to disrupt the trade of illegal drugs in the area.
  • Parking in Headingley, especially on match days. We will bare this in mind for our patrols & any vehicle seen to be causing an obstruction will be dealt with appropriately. 

Update February 2024:

  • The Otley Run is monitored each weekend by NPT Officers. We are working alongside partners including LASBT to enforce the Public Space Protection Order. 
  • In the past two years, Inner North West NPT Officers have prevented over £70million worth of Cannabis from being sold on the streets of Headingley and Hyde Park and wider Leeds. Several offenders are now in prison & thousands of Cannabis plants have been destroyed. 

Ward Area - Little London & Woodhouse - Set 17th October 2023

Lead Area Problem Solving Officer - PC 349 Buxton & PC 1795 Turner

  • To address concerns about speeding and antisocial use of vehicles throughout the ward. We will utilise reports from members of the public, highways speed survey data & our own operational data to identify roads where the speed limits are not adhered to. 
  • Combat the supply and usage of drugs in & around the Oatland Tower blocks. We will conduct high-visibility patrols as a deterrent, whilst building intelligence against those involved in supply. 

Update February 2024:

  • During the week of 25th September, Officers arrested three people for Robbery and Burglary offences and a further three people were detained in relation to Drugs offences. We are aware of community concerns surrounding ASB in the area surrounding Oatland Drive & have executed several warrants at addresses in the area, in response to those concerns.
  • We have recently carried out two search warrants under S23 of the misuse of drugs act. We will continue to build intelligence against those who are supplying drugs.

  • Enforcement against drunk & disorderly behaviour along the length of the 'Otley Run' in Headingley. Reports have been received of drunk & disorderly behaviour associated with the 'Otley Run'. We will work alongside partnership agencies to enforce the current Public Space Protection Order (PSPO).
  • Vehicles on Moor Road and Cottage Road. Enforcement action against drivers speeding in 20mph zone; and driving on pavements.
  • Pavement Parking. Ticket enforcement around most of the Tinshill area, and the Raynels.
