Armley 12/03/2024

Lead Area Sergeant: PS 860 Craven
Lead Area Problem Solving Officers: PC 5600 Atkins; PC 5783 Miah

Tackle anti-social behaviour on Town Street. Increasing visible Police patrols and working with partners at LASBT to reinforce ASB Legislation. To work with Street Outreach and addiction services to support change. We will also work alongside Youth Services to support changes and diversionary activities with youths.

To deal with on-going street level drug dealing. We will action and develop community-based intelligence to deter and disrupt offending. Please ring 101 or Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111 or crimestoppers-uk.org.

To promote Road Safety relating to the anti-social use of cars and motor bikes in the area by Conducting Road Safety Operations with partners at Operational Support and DVLA and VOSA using legislation to tackle Anti-social driving.

 

Bramley 12/03/2024

To disrupt and engage with nuisance youths at the Bramley shopping centre, particularly utilising Misuse of Drugs and Anti-Social Behaviour legislation. Officers will be conducting regular high visibility patrols in the area and will engage with attendees where possible, utilizing a multi-agency approach to help divert offending and offenders.

To deal with on-going street level drug dealing. We will action and develop community-based intelligence to deter and disrupt offending. Please ring 101 or Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111 or crimestoppers-uk.org.

To target Anti-Social Vehicle use, including quads and off-road bikes, speeding and inconsiderate parking in and around identified hot spot areas within the Bramley area. Deployments are community intelligence driven. Positive action will be taken where possible regarding driving offences and high visibility officers will be utilised.

 

Kirkstall 12/03/2024

Lead Area Problem Solving Officers: PC 1625 Langford

To tackle theft of motor vehicles, including motorcycles and associated burglary offences in the area by proactively targeting offenders and conducting high visibility patrols in the area. This will be supported by the provision of education for residents, limiting the offenders opportunity to commit the offences.

To reduce and prevent the antisocial use of motorcycle and related crime. NPT are working with partners to reduce access to land and routes. In addition, police will conduct operations and actively target repeat offenders using road traffic law and seizures.

To tackle anti-social behaviour at Kirkstall Shopping Centre. We will conduct high visibility patrols and increase communication with the stores. In addition, police will utilise powers to actively prevent repeat offenders from attending the area.

 

Pudsey 06/03/2024

Lead area Sergeant: PS 5303 Smith

Lead Area Problem Solving Officers: PC 2928 Hance, PC 2808 Cockayne, PC 6387 Davies

To target youth related anti-social behaviour throughout the Pudsey ward.

We will carry out high visibility patrols across the ward in identified hotspots, to identify young people involved. We will work closely with partners in Youth Service Provisions, to engage with young people, in order to direct them into available diversionary activities. In addition, we will liaise with Leeds City Council Anti-Social Behaviour Team, to review and take action against those repeatedly involved in anti-social behaviour.

Update 06/03/24

There have been 11 calls in the past 6 weeks reporting nuisance across the Pudsey Ward. 4 of these calls specifically reporting youth nuisance. There has been 1 call reporting ASB at the bus station the other calls are widespread across the ward with no identified pattern. We are working with partners to ensure we are engaging with those young people who are most at risk of becoming involved in criminality to ensure support and diversionary activities are put in place.

To tackle residential Burglary across the Pudsey Ward.

The police will tackle this through the use of intelligence led patrols at key times to disrupt and deter offenders. We will utilise crime prevention methods to target harden properties in the area. 

Update 06/03/24

There have been 8 residential burglaries in the past 6 weeks. This is a reduction of 9 on the previous 6 week period. 7 are attempts where no entry has been gained. All widespread across the ward with no particular pattern.

 

To tackle anti-social vehicle use, speeding in and around identified hot spot areas within the Pudsey area.

Deployments are community intelligence driven. We will address this issue through the use of proactive patrols and the use of speed indication devices to engage and educate the public around the dangers of excess speed. We will utilise Sec 59 warnings and the Leeds wide public spaces protection order to tackle low-level vehicular nuisance. Vehicular nuisance PSPO (leeds.gov.uk)

Update 06/03/24

During the last 6 weeks officers from the roads policing unit and the neighbourhood policing have carried out targeted patrols in and around known hotspots. Officers have utilised the pro-laser (speed radar device), monitoring speeds and taking appropriate action against those in contravention of road traffic laws. The Leeds District Off-Road Bike Team continue to also carry out proactive patrols to detect and deter the anti-social use of motorcycles and quads.

 

Farnley and Wortley 12/03/2024

To tackle antisocial behaviour in the ward. This can be targeted not only by high visibility patrols but also by deploying additional police powers to prevent this behaviour. We will also target offenders by using partners who are often the recipients.

Drug dealing in the ward. We will continue to target individual offenders whilst encouraging members of the public to report information and increasing our effectiveness to target offenders.

 

Calverley and Farsley 04/01/2024

To target the use of anti-social, off road motorcycles and quad bikes in Calverley & Ravenscliffe Woods, by working in Partnership with Bradford East NPT, Operation Steerside & Leeds Off Road Bike Team. Officers will utilise Anti-Social Behaviour & Road Traffic legislation in a zero tolerance enforcement style.

To target speeding & anti-social motorists on Bradford Road from Dawson’s Corner to Thornbury Roundabout, by conducting hi visibility patrols of the road and the deployment of Pro Laser to capture & deter offending.

To tackle residential burglaries by conducting hi visibility patrols, targeting & disrupting known offenders and delivering of crime prevention advice to residents.

Update 04/01/2024

Nuisance Bikes – NPT have been working alongside land owners and Bradford East NPT colleagues to reduce demand. West Yorkshire Police have seen a reduction in calls to Ravenscliffe Woods and the Bunnyfields over recent months.

Speeding – The NPT have acquired funding via the Outer West Community Committee to provide additional resources for the roads policing unit and NPT officers. This has also been made available to the Leeds District Off-Road Bike Team to provided resourcing in problem areas.

Residential Burglary – NPT officers and the area’s crime prevention officer continue to support victims of burglary, referring them for further support where necessary.
