Human Tissue Audit - Joint Statement from West Yorkshire Police and the West Yorkshire Coroners

A national report has been released today, after every Police Force was asked to conduct an audit of human tissue retained in relation to suspicious deaths. West Yorkshire Police, along with other Forces, has now completed that check, which has relied upon the assistance of coroners, hospital authorities and the Forensic Science Service. There are 31 West Yorkshire cases where significant tissue has been retained and we are now in the process of contacting relatives who are affected.
