West Yorkshire Police has worked with Victim Support in launching a new campaign aimed at encouraging male victims of sexual assault to come forward. While it is important that any victims of sexual assault report the crime and seek support, it is believed that offences against males are particularly under-reported.
Tuesday 21 November 2023 A woman who was seriously sexually assaulted as a child has encouraged survivors to never remain silent after seeing her attacker jailed for 14 years.

Friday 9 February 2024   In line with Sexual Abuse and Sexual Violence Awareness Week, yesterday, Thursday 8 February, West Yorkshire Police hosted a symposium for Operation Soteria, the national operating model introduced to transform the way police forces investigate rape and serious sexual violence.

Tuesday 23 May 2023 A Huddersfield man who sexual assaulted vulnerable women has been jailed. Naveed Khawaja ( 55) of Yew Street, Huddersfield was jailed for three years at Leeds Crown Court on May 9 after being convicted of three sexual assaults. 
Being raped or sexually assaulted is an awful and traumatic experience.  It is common to feel shocked, numb, disorientated, overwhelmed, angry and upset.  It is important to remember that whatever happened is not your fault.  Support is available – you do not have to go through this alone.
Tuesday 11 July 2023 Yesterday, Monday 10 July, the Home Secretary announced that all 43 forces in England and Wales have signed up to Operation Soteria, the transformational change program tackling rape and serious sexual offences.
