Appeal: Arson Incidents At Raynville Road Flats, Bramley.
Detectives investigating a series of arsons at two neighbouring Leeds tower blocks are appealing for information.
Officers are currently investigating five incidents between December 14 and November 8 at Raynville Grange and Raynville Court flats in Raynville Road, Bramley, where rubbish has been set on fire in or next to bin chutes in the buildings.
There are believed to have been around 20 incidents at the flats since August, but most were considered small rubbish fires that were not reported to the police at the time.
The majority of incidents have been at Raynville Grange and have involved bin chutes on the fifth and sixth floor landings.
Of the five incidents recorded as crimes, four took place at Raynville Grange between 9.30pm and 3.30am. These were on December 10, December 8, November 16 and November 8. The fifth incident happened shortly before 7pm at Raynville Court on December 14.
Detectives want to hear from anyone who has witnessed anyone acting suspiciously in the area or who has any information that could assist the investigation.
Officers from the Armley, Bramley and Stanningley Neighbourhood Policing Team have increased patrols in the area to reassure residents and deter further incidents and the council has stepped up security at the buildings.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 6519 Carrie Gorny at Weetwood police station via 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
