Appeal: Arson, North Road, Kirkburton

Wednesday 1 February, 2012.

Police in Huddersfield are appealing for witnesses to an arson attack on a Kirkburton takeaway.

At around 12:15am this morning (1/2) police were called to the takeaway on North Road, Kirkburton after a bottle filled with a lit accelerant was thrown through the door of the property.

The takeaway was closing for the night at the time of the incident, with only one member of staff in the building.

There were no injuries however the building was extensively damaged by the fire.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident and are appealing for anyone who saw a man enter the takeaway at around 11:30pm to contact them.

This man was in his mid to late twenties and had short brown hair. He was clean shaven and wearing a black waist-length coat and dark coloured bottoms.
