Appeal: Assault, Dram Centre, Dalton, Hudds.

Monday 1 October, 2012.

Huddersfield CID are re-appealing for witnesses to an assault in Dalton where a 60-year old man was assaulted on the 27 July.

The assault took place in the car park of the Dram Centre in Dalton at around 10:20pm. A minor collision took place between a blue Skoda Octavia estate and a black car in the car park of the Dram Centre.

There were no injuries at the time but, following an altercation, the 60-year old driver of the Skoda was assaulted, requiring hospital treatment.

The suspect was initially thought to have been the driver from the black car, which could not be described further. It has however now been established that the suspect was a man who was in the car park of the Dram Centre, but was not in the black car.

The suspect was a mixed race man in his thirties, around 6-feet tall of stocky build with a bald head and large stomach. He was wearing a blue short-sleeved shirt and dark trousers. It is thought that the suspect went into the Dram Centre function room after the incident.

A CCTV image from the Dram Centre has identified a man that officers would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

The man in the image, anyone who recognises him, or any witnesses are being asked to contact DC Simon Thomas at Huddersfield CID on 01484 436714 or Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111
