Appeal: Attempted Robbery, Castleford

Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery in Castleford on Friday evening.
Wakefield CID would like to speak to anyone who has information about the incident which took place between 10.45 and 10.50pm on the evening of Friday October 19 near Rhodes Street in Castleford.
It occurred after the victim, a 19-year-old woman, was approached from behind by a man as she walked her dog down an alleyway between Rhodes Street and Perseverance Street.
She was the pushed against a wall by the suspect who demanded money. He then fled towards the town centre when the victim said she didn't have any.
He was described as white, wearing a thick black coat with the hood up and dark bottoms. He also spoke with a foreign accent which was possibly Polish.
Anyone who has information or witnessed the incident is asked to contact DC 6275 Scott at Wakefield CID on 101.
