Appeal: Attempted Robbery, Netherton.

Thursday 5 July, 2012.

Huddersfield CID are appealing for witnesses to an attempted robbery in Netherton on the 3 July.

At around 11pm a 19-year old man was walking along a snicket at the side of Netherton J&I school on Moor Lane.

As he did so, the 19-year old passed four men. One of the men grabbed at a shoulder bag that the 19-year old was carrying and demanded that he drop the bag and leave.

The 19-year old struggled with the suspect and was able to break free and run from the group, keeping his bag in the process.

The main suspect was a white man in his late teens, around 6" tall and muscular. He was wearing a dark Nike hooded top, black Adidas bottoms and dark blue Adidas trainers. He spoke with a squeaky voice.

The other three suspects were between 5'6" and 6" tall, wore dark clothing and had their faces covered.

Nothing was stolen during the attempted robbery but witnesses, or anyone with information on the suspects is asked to contact DC Mick Cummings at Huddersfield CID via 101.
