Appeal: Fail to Stop Road Traffic Collision- Osmondthorpe Lane

Police in Leeds are appealing for information after a 20-year-old male pedestrian was knocked down by a car which then drove off in the early hours of this morning.

The incident occurred as the local man was walking on a path by the side of Osmondthorpe Lane in east Leeds around 2.50am this morning.

A small red car, believed to be a Nissan Micra, left the road and mounted the path striking the pedestrian before it drove off in the direction of the A64 leaving the injured man in the road.

The victim was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with a serious head injury but this is not thought to be life threatening.

Osmondthorpe Lane was closed for around two hours while the scene was examined by forensic experts.

Any witnesses or anyone seeing a car matching the description and driving erratically in the area is asked to contact police.
