Appeal for Information - Burglary - Crofton, Wakefield
Wednesday, 29th August, 2012
Police in Wakefield have released e-fits in an attempt to trace two suspects in connection with a burglary in the Crofton area. It happened on Thursday, 23rd August at approximately 3pm on Cock Lane. The owner of the house and her daughter returned home to find a window pane missing from the bottom front window. She went into the house through the gap, which had been created, and heard banging noises. She found an unknown male in her kitchen and challenged him. She then saw another male in her living room. Both suspects left the house through the gap in the window with the second suspect returning briefly to collect his baseball cap. The victim's daughter chased the first suspect onto Parkway but after he threatened her she returned home.
The first suspect is described as a white male, late 20's to early 30's, 5ft 8 tall and of a stocky to overweight build. He had dark hair and dark eyes and was wearing a blue fleece, a black baseball cap and spoke with a Yorkshire accent.
It's believed that the suspects possibly left the scene in a burgundy/maroon Ford car.
Both victims were uninjured but shaken by the incident.
Acting DI Mark Catney of Wakefield CID said: "It is very unusual to find a burglar in your home. If you do the best thing is to leave the property and immediately call the Police on 999."
