Appeal: Man Seriously Injured Following Stonegate Road Collision

Police in Leeds are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously injured when his Mercedes vehicle was in collision with an Audi at the junction of Stonegate Road and Castle View last night (2/9).

PC Martyn Burns from the Safer Roads and Neighbourhood Support Unit, said: ‘‘The incident occurred around 8.55pm as the Audi A4 estate was being driven along Stonegate Road from the direction of King Lane when it collided with a Mercedes which came from Castle View.

‘‘The 38-year-old driver of the Mercedes was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with back and abdominal injuries. He remains in a critical condition this morning.

‘‘A 32-year-old male driver from the Audi has also received hospital treatment but his injuries are not considered to be life threatening.’’
