Police are trying to trace a motorist who stopped to help an elderly man who had fallen in the road in Fixby.

The man, who was in his seventies, suffered injuries after he fell in Netheroyd Hill Road or Lightridge Road at about 5.30pm on Tuesday, 2 February.

He was sadly found deceased at his home the following day.

The driver is described as a white man, of athletic build with a bald head and possibly in his mid-thirties.

He was driving a white car and was casually, but smartly dressed.

Detective Constable Shaun Topham, of Kirklees CID, said:

"It is possible this man has died as a result of the injuries he suffered in the fall, but we would like to speak to the driver to see if he has any more information."
