Appeal: Robbery, Stainbeck Lane, Chapel Allerton
Wednesday, 30 December 2015
The robbery happened between 1.05am and 1.12am yesterday (Tuesday) in Stainbeck Lane. Three suspects, armed with a number of weapons including a black handgun, entered the public house and made demands to two staff members for cash which was handed over. They were seen leaving the scene in a silver vehicle.
The three suspects were all wearing masks but are believed to be white men. They spoke with local accents and are described as being tall and of stocky build.
A silver Renault Megane was recovered nearby in Town Street a short time later. A gun was found inside the vehicle.
Detective Sergeant Mark Atkinson, of Leeds District CID, said:
"Thankfully neither of the staff members confronted by this group were hurt, but they have been left extremely shaken up by this frightening experience.
"We found a vehicle left near to the scene of this robbery which we believe is the one used in this offence.
"As part of our ongoing enquiries, we have released an image of it in the hope that it may trigger someone's memory who saw it or its occupants in the area around the time of this offence.
"The vehicle was bearing the registration plate BL04 MVS and one of its brakelights appeared to be defective.
"Anyone with information is urged to call Leeds District CID via 101, quoting log 71 of 29/12, or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
- A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains in custody at this time.
