VAWG - Violence Against Women and Girls - West Yorkshire Police is committed to creating an environment where women and girls can feel safe and be safe within the county, free of fear and harassment. As part of the Force’s commitment to reducing Violence Against Women and Girls, it has launched its Strategy, outlining how it intends to ensure that women and girls are safe and feel safe. As part of this the Force is focusing on three key priorities which are: Pursuit of perpetrators, Creating safe spaces (in private, public and online) - and Increasing trust and confidence in policing.

More than 100 safe spaces are now operating in Kirklees to provide places were women, girls and those at risk can seek help.
'Get a Crime Update' (formerly known as Local Crime Tracker) is an online service provided by West Yorkshire Police that allows you to quickly and easily check the status of a previously reported crime - it allows you to keep updated with the status of your crime, view details of the officer in the case and contact the officer if you require an update.

A Huddersfield man who sexual assaulted vulnerable women has been jailed.
Naveed Khawaja ( 55) of Yew Street, Huddersfield was jailed for three years at Leeds Crown Court on May 9 after being convicted of three sexual assaults.
