CCTV Appeal: Assault, Morley Street, Bradford

Friday 3 February 2012

Police have today released CCTV images of two men they would like to speak to in connection with an assault which occurred on Morley Street in Bradford.

At 5:20am on Sunday 18 December 2011, a 31 year old man was involved in a dispute with two men over a taxi.

Both subsequently attacked him causing serious injuries to his face. He was later taken to hospital and treated.

The first suspect is described as white, around 6ft tall, of athletic build and was wearing a black v-neck t-shirt and jeans. He was also holding a coat and a bag at the time.

The second man is described as white, around 5 ft 6 inches tall, wearing red trousers and a black long sleeved shirt.

Detective Constable Polly Jackson of Bradford South CID is investigating the incident and said:

“The victim was attacked in an extremely vicious manner whilst on a Christmas night out which has left him feeling vulnerable and upset. Even now after leaving hospital, he is on light duties at work and is still receiving treatment for his injuries.

“Since the incident, a considerable amount of work has been undertaken to trace those responsible, particularly through our CCTV enquiries. We are now calling on the public to assist in our investigations and to help identifying the people captured within these images.

“Revellers celebrating in Bradford over the festive period were well behaved, however; one serious incident is one too many. The minority intent on spoiling the night time economy for others will be robustly dealt with and such offences will not be tolerated

“I would therefore ask anyone who recognises the people in the CCTV to get in touch and help us progress this further. Likewise, if you have any other information or remember this incident occurring, please contact us on the non emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.”
