West Yorkshire Police Designing Out Crime Officers (DOCO’s), liaise with the Local Authority Planning Officers, Architects, Developers and Agents to design out crime and reduce opportunities for crime and ASB (anti-social behaviour). Our Design Out Crime Officers (DOCO's) in each of the five districts are embedded in their local authorities playing a major part in the future of community safety within the Force area. All our DOCO's are active members of the Security Institute which includes CPD (Continuous Professional Development)

Stop it Now Campaign. Viewing and sharing indecent images of children online is a serious and growing problem. West Yorkshire Police has embarked on a new partnership with the Lucy Faithfull Foundation to deter people from committing offences, and to stop if they’re already doing it.

People contacting West Yorkshire Police for assistance are getting a helping hand from some web-based software. GoodSAM was initially adopted by the force to assist with 999 and 101 calls back in January 2021. With the caller’s consent it allowed our call takers to access the caller’s phone’s camera function, so live video and the caller’s location could be shared from their device. This assisted with determining response measures.
Monday 20 March, 2023 More than 100 safe spaces are now operating in Kirklees to provide places were women, girls and those at risk can seek help.
