Classic Land Rovers destroyed, Lockwood

Tuesday, 22 July, 2014

Police are appealing for any witnesses to a fire at the Land Rover Centre in Lockwood on Monday morning.
The fire, which officers are investigating as a potential arson, caused considerable damage including that to four classic Land Rovers which were destroyed and a further two, which were damaged.
PC Paul James of Huddersfield Police, said:
"Enquiries into the incident remain on going but we believe the fire started at around 4.50am and so I am appealing to anyone who saw any suspicious activity around that time on or around Bridge Street, Woodhead Road or Waterside to get in touch.
"The fire has caused considerable damage. We think it started on a patch of scrubland which is planted with conifer trees and behind a wooden fence which surrounds the forecourt.
"The scrubland is accessible from Woodhead Road which is opposite."
Any witnesses are asked to contact police PC James on 101.
