Insecure or Sneak-In burglary accounts for approximately 1 in 4 burglaries across West Yorkshire.  This method of entering someone’s home only occurs if a door or window has been left open or unlocked.  It only takes a minute to prevent it and costs nothing other than your to time to stop it from happening.
Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology is used within West Yorkshire Police  to help detect, deter and disrupt criminality at a local, force, regional and national level, including tackling traveling criminals, Organised Crime Groups and terrorists. ANPR provides lines of enquiry and evidence in the investigation of crime and is used by forces throughout England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Help your mates to walk away That’s the message of a new campaign being launched by West Yorkshire Police to prevent deaths and serious injuries caused by a person being assaulted on a night out. 
Having your vehicle stolen can be extremely upsetting and have a major impact on your daily routine – getting to work, dropping the kids off at school or running a business.  Car Key burglaries account for just under 10% of burglaries in West Yorkshire and some of the makes and models stolen include VW Golf, Vauxhall Astra, Ford Focus, Ford Fiesta, Audi A3 and Vauxhall Corsa.  The vehicles stolen may end up getting written off, used in other criminal offences, sold on or broken down for parts.
Burglaries often increase during the Spring and Summer months, when burglars take advantage of people leaving doors and windows open during the warmer weather.
Anti Burglary Campaign - Autumn / Winter 2016. As burglaries often increase during the Autumn and Winter months - taking simple measures such as locking your doors and windows, not leaving valuables on display and using your alarm can significantly reduce your chances of being a victim.
Thursday 25 August 2023 A new dedicated team has been set up in Bradford to tackle burglaries across the district.   The District Crime Team (DCT) has been created to combat the rise in burglaries across the area.
