Police Appeal for Information After a Girl is Bitten by a dog in Elland

Police in Elland are asking for help to trace a dog and the animal's owners after a young girl was bitten.
The incident happened at approximately 12.40pm on Saturday 7 July on a square of grassland between James Street and Albion Street when a dog bit the 13 year-old's arm and ripped her coat. She had to go to hospital as a result.
The dog is described as having white fur that is quite dirty, approximately 1.5 ft tall with upright ears and a long bushy tail. It thought to be of a similar description to a Japanese Akita breed or a Husky.
Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the dog or who owns it are asked to contact the Lower Valley Neighbourhood Policing Team on 101.
