Police Open Day /Children’s Day
The annual North West Leeds Division Police Open Day was this year held in conjunction with the Children’s Day at the Headingley Carnegie Stadium. Hundreds of people came through the gates, it was a fantastic turn out and the weather stayed lovely for the duration. There were lots to do for everyone - the mini rugby tournament, the fun activities and games for the children, the fire engine, the mascots, the cricket, the celebrity rugby match, the great cook off.
The Police vehicles were a great hit with the children who had great fun on the off road bike, being held captive in the police van, having a good go at battoning a police officer (who made sure he was well protected though).
Inside there was a mock crime scene, wildlife display, advise was on hand at the Crime Prevention stand, Hate Crime and ASB stand, finger printing, Explorer Stand, Recruitment Stand and of course the queue was relentless yet again for the ‘Wanted Posters’.
We would like to take this opportunity in thanking everyone for attending on the day, the officers and staff who helped and the volunteers who gave up their time to make the day a great success – thank you.
