  • Pedal Power For Wakefield Cops Who 'Cycled' To Paris

    Wakefield Central NPT Officers 'cycled' to Paris last weekend in order to raise money for charity. 

    On Saturday February 23 eight officers used static bikes to cycle 282 miles in relay, thats the distance from London to Paris.

    They hopped on the bikes at Trinity Walk at 9am and cycled for 8 hours to complete the challenge and raised hundred of pounds for Wakefield Hospice and Children with Cancer.

    The team were supported by mascots Treacle and Paul the Padlock and members of the public were provided with crime prevention advice and details about the work of the NPT.

    PC Steve Sayles, said: "Wakefield central NPT would like to thank the many volunteers that assisted in making the day a success and especial thanks should go to Xercise 4 less who provided us with the bikes.

    "We are pleased to announce that we raised £750 for Wakefield Hospice and Children with Cancer, and it was great to see that all the kids who came to stop and watch and have their faces painted enjoyed themselves too."
