Priority: Centre Vale Park - 16 Jul 10
In response to the above priority, NPT Officers have been patrolling the park on a daily basis. On Tuesday evening, Officers attended and conducted stop searches on a number of youngsters found there. These searches revealed a quantity of Cannabis for which formal warnings were given.
Mobile patrols and multi agency initiatives will continue in the area in order to address any further problems in the park.
Priorities – Thanks were received for Speeding Operation - 15 Jul 10
In response to numerous public complaints regarding speeding on Burnley Road (Cornholme and Todmorden), and Oldham Road, Rishworth, your local Officers have again listened and responded.
On 12 July, 2010 Officers from Todmorden Neighbourhood Policing Team (Sgt Bowden and PCs Stockton and Crowther) joined forces with Sgt Tyson from Speed Enforcement in order to tackle the above speeding problems. Throughout the day a total of 14 Endorsable Fixed Penalty Notices were issued for excess speed, and one driver was asked to produce his licence and other driving details within 7 days. Throughout the operation, local residents from both areas approached our Officers in order to express their gratitude for conducting this operation and deterring further speeding on the two roads.
The initiative was greatly assisted by the fact that Upper Valley NPT have recently been lent a new Pro Laser 3 machine by Calderdale Council and the Calderdale Safer Roads Group – As you can see, we have been quick to put it to good use!
