The telephone number the call may come from is 0034009054.

Mobile Data
All of our Police Officers and PCSOs on the Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPTs) in the West Yorkshire Police, have been issued with 'Blackberry' mobile phones with full email messaging and data transfer facilities. This enables them to send and receive important operational information relating to their work whilst on patrol in your community. Officers are able to immediately update our Intelligence and Operations Departments and respond to new information received whilst out on patrol. The Blackberries will be in addition to the traditional Police radios.
"So if you see an officer busily texting whilst standing on a street corner or sitting in a police car, please don't assume that they are arranging for their tea, they will actually be gainfully employed updating the systems in our organisation".
Take a Closer Look
There has been an increase in the number of ‘fake’ £20 notes in circulation over recent weeks. The NPT have been contacted by both businesses and individuals who have unwittingly been given counterfeit notes in their change etc. Information on what to look for to check that your notes are genuine can be found on the Bank of England website. Alternatively the NPT have a small number of leaflets detailing the security features – if you would like one please contact the NPT on 01274 475301.
Be aware of Lottery Scams
There has recently been an increase in people receiving letters in the post saying that they have won a substantial amount of money on the Lottery. The letter explains how you have come to win this money and how to claim for your winnings. Accompanying the letter is a Payment process requesting personal details including bank details. DO NOT FILL THIS IN. If you receive any of these letters telephone the following number and report the matter to Consumer direct on 0845 4040506 or via the internet on www.consumerdirect.gov.uk.
Never reveal your bank details unless you are absolutely sure who you are giving the details to.
Please be aware of various scam/begging letters and emails that are currently being sent around our area. Please do not respond to them or ring any telephone numbers detailed on the literature.

Neighbourhood policing is about providing the local community with a dedicated and accountable team with local ownership. This will be achieved through three directed objectives: 1. They will conduct their day to day work through intelligence-led targeting of the problems that matter most to the public. 2. This will be achieved through joint action by police, partner agencies and the public. 3. The NPT will endeavour to reduce crime and the fear of crime throughout the area by specific actions in your village and town. (See News Roundup for examples as they happen.)
