I am Chief Superintendent Marc Callaghan, the Commander of Wakefield Division and I am delighted to welcome you to the Wakefield Neighbourhood Policing web page. I am fully committed to delivering an excellent Policing service across the whole of Wakefield District. Last March saw the launch of the Policing pledge. This has been widely publicised at both local and national level, but I really want to stress to you that it really is an important change in the way that we Police. In the past 12 months the courts in Wakefield have taken £315,000 off local criminals. Some of that money comes back to Wakefield Police and is used to tackle local problems and keep communities safe. To see further information about the most recent seizures please log onto the Wakefield Express crime file webpage and click the “why should they link”. I am determined to raise your confidence in what we do. I want you to know that if you need to contact us that you will receive an excellent service that is personal to you and based upon your individual needs. If we fall short of this promise then please let me know so that I can deal with the matter and we can learn from the experience. Last, but not least recorded crime in Wakefield continues to fall and I am immensely proud of our achievements so far. However we will not sit on our laurels. I am interested to hear from anyone who can help in the fight against crime whatever form that might take. If you have any information that may help you can contact your local Neighbourhood Policing team who will be happy to take your call or crime stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. |
