Welcome to West Yorkshire Police's Training and Development Centre, in Wakefield, firmly established as a leading international centre for training detectives and drivers.

More recently, management courses have been added, with specialist training in firearms, public order, drugs and intelligence and Information Technology. In addition, they also provide foundation training to Probationer Police Officers.

World Wide Reputation

The centre has a national and worldwide reputation among international agencies. Officers representing most of the UK police forces and many countries overseas have already taken advantage of the available training.

Although our training courses are suitable for Non UK law enforcement officers, they should have a good command of the English Language when attending the UK based classroom courses.

The centre is also open to people from non-police organisations who can benefit from the specialist courses.
