Learning & Development
Welcome from the Head of Learning and Development
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the homepage for West Yorkshire Police Learning and Development.
Professional learning and development are critical to ensuring our most important asset – our people – are adequately supported and equipped to deliver a high quality service that meets the needs and expectations of the communities they serve every minute of every day.
Formal classroom learning is only one part of personal and professional growth. In changing and challenging times new, innovative and cost effective ways of learning and development are being delivered that maximise the return on investment.
In March 2014 we were privileged to take possession of brand new purpose built training facilities at Carr gate on the outskirts of Wakefield. These facilities are state of the art and are amongst the very best not just nationally but internationally and help us build on our excellent reputation for delivering high quality learning.
Our facilities are available for use by other organisations from both the public and private sector indeed we encourage collaboration and joint training and working. It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the home page for West Yorkshire Police Learning and Development.
Below you will find details of our facilities, courses and how to contact us, we look forward to seeing you at Carr Gate.
