A new era for Learning and Development in West Yorkshire Police began in March 2014 with the opening of brand new world class training facilities at Carr Gate near Wakefield.

The Carr Gate complex houses Firearms, Driver, Public Order, Crime, IT, Foundation and Leadership and Development training. Facilities at Carr Gate include state of the art firearms ranges, indoor and outdoor public order areas, a firearms skills house, driver manoeuvring area, classrooms, gym, a canteen and much more.

Situated next to junction 41 of the M1 Motorway and close to mainline rail and international air links Carr Gate is an ideal location not just in West Yorkshire but also nationally. The new complex comprises the following facilities:
