West Yorkshire Police, as required by other public bodies with more than 150 employees in the UK, must publish information to show how we comply with the Public Sector Equality Duty under the Equality Act 2010. In establishing what information is published we have consulted on what information people might be interested in, considered what information other police services and other public sector bodies publish and referred to guidance published by the Government Equalities Office and the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC). This section of our website publishes information that shows how we demonstrate ‘due regard’ to the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) in delivering our policing services and for our workforce.
West Yorkshire Police is committed to positively responding to the duty and whilst we continue to consult on what people might want us to publish, we welcome suggestions from the communities of West Yorkshire regarding any further information we should publish.
