Abnormal loads
West Yorkshire Police operates an embargo on vehicles that require notification under the Road Vehicles (authorisation of Special Types) General Order 2003 S.T.G.O or Special Orders between the hours of:
Monday to Friday: 6:30am to 10am and 4pm to 6:30pm
This is to minimise the impact of a wide or slow moving vehicle on the rush / peak hour congestion. Ultimately it this provides Officers with the power to remove a vehicle from the roads to a suitable location until the end of the embargo period - although there is no other penalty any incidents of companies not adhering to the embargo it may be a warning sign to check for other offences.
