Online notification of firearm transfer or change of address
You are required by the Firearms (Amendment) Act 1997 to notify the Police Force who issued your Firearms or Shotgun Certificate in writing within seven days of any transaction regarding the acquisition, transfer or disposal of the Firearm or Shotgun. You must also notify on the hire, loss, theft or deactivation of a Firearm or Shotgun.
You are under no obligation to use this form. If you wish, you can send the notification by post, fax or email.
Certificates are not required to be re-printed on the acquistion or disposal of a firearm or change of address.
If the other party to the transfer lives outside West Yorkshire they must also notify within seven days the Chief Constable of the force who issued their certificate.
