West Yorkshire Police Deaf Community Champions. West Yorkshire's Police work with hearing-impaired members of the community is helped by officers and staff who are Deaf Community Champions from different Districts and Departments. Also known as Police Link Officers, Deaf Community Champions are a mixture of police officers, PCSOs and police staff. Many already have experience in engaging with members of the Deaf community as part of their day-to-day work, with some being literate in British Sign Language.
You can contact the West Yorkshire Police Contact Management Centre online using our 101 Live Chat system. Please note this service is not for emergency use. In an emergency always call 999.

The Force’s Communications Division is at the very heart of West Yorkshire Police masterminding all telephone contact between the public and police, and managing the Force's response to incidents around the clock.
As a Contact Officer for West Yorkshire Police, you will be responding to both emergency and non-emergency calls, and you will literally be making a difference to - and in some instances actually helping to save – peoples’ lives.
West Yorkshire Police strive to deliver high quality policing. For us there is no greater priority. We understand that if we are going to learn from experience and find ways to be even better, we need to listen and respond to the needs and views of the people in West Yorkshire. Your views are therefore very important to us. If you are pleased with the service you have received from us we would like to hear from you. If you are unhappy about the service that you’ve had, you can express your dissatisfaction or make a formal complaint.
There is a misconception that the police will always attend if you stay silent after calling 999 - this is not correct. When you dial 999 anywhere in the UK, your call is answered by telephone operators from BT, who will then direct your call to the most appropriate emergency service.
At West Yorkshire Police, we take pride in providing a high quality of service to you regardless of why or how you have made contact with us.
