The West Yorkshire Safety camera partnership currently have 395 fixed camera sites across West Yorkshire.
3) How many handheld traffic speed cameras are there currently (total of working and not working) for the West Yorkshire Police area. By hand held traffic speed cameras we are referring to mobile speed cameras which are manually operated by police officers using radar guns and laser guns.
Currently, West Yorkshire Police have 27 hand held speed cameras for the deployment of Police Officers.
4) How many traffic mobile speed trap cameras are there currently (total of working and not working) for the West Yorkshire Police area.
By mobile speed camera traps we are referring to cameras working from marked and unmarked cars.
West Yorkshire police do not have speed traps but enforce speed limits on high risk roads to try and achieve compliance of the speed limits, this is in line with working towards Vision zero and to stop unnecessary deaths and serious collisions on the roads of West Yorkshire.
