Salary range : £27,789.00 - £29,874.00

(14.03% weekend enhancements and 20% shift allowance - potential maximum gross salary could amount to £38,025.35 - £40,878.38 based on full time hours with enhancements).


As part of a dedicated team, you will be responsible for ensuring that the correct Police response is allocated to jobs that come in via our call handlers. This can be an emergency-based response or one that requires slower time handling, in either case your responsibility will be to assess risk and come up with a solution.

You will be responsible for identifying and assessing risk and making resolution and deployment decisions using a range of systems. You will also allocate resources to incidents and support them in any radio transmissions.

You will be part of the wider policing family helping to keep West Yorkshire safe, as well as part of a team of great people. Most people join the police service because they want to help others and make a difference to people’s lives. Working in one of the Force’s Control Rooms, there is no doubt that you will be making a difference every day.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous control room experience or transferable skills
  • Communication skills – the ability to listen, empathise and provide support.
  • Communication skills – be able to adapt their language to meet the needs of different people and audiences.
  • Experience of information gathering and problem solving.
  • Able to utilise IT packages, systems and/or databases.
  • Able to appropriately prioritise and plan own work.
  • Ability to work under pressure, making logical and appropriate decisions
