Ward Area: Almondbury

Local Priority Problem Solving Officers: PC 3708 Vant, PC 1900 Hardcastle

Fernside: 

  • ASB - To engage with youths gathering in the area and divert them from ASB and reduce incidents of ASB. We will be increasing patrols in the areas and working with local schools and the community. ASB legislation will be used to disrupt this behaviour where necessary.

Update – November 2022

We continue to work closely with partners as the darker nights do see an increase in ASB in the area and officers are deploying to deal with any issues.

Anti-Social Behaviour Almondbury: 

  • ASB - Officers will engage with youths gathering in the main village area to divert them from ASB and reduce incidents of ASB. We will increase patrols in the area and work with local schools and the community.

We continue to work closely with partners as the darker nights do see an increase in ASB in the area and officers are deploying to deal with any issues.

 

Ward Area: Ashbrow

Local Priority Problem Solving Officer: PC 3766 Briggs

Brackenhall and Deighton Area: 

  • Reduce ASB and youth related violence.

Update – November 2022

Officers are working closely with schools to ensure the safety of young people in the area and divert young people from gangs and prevent the carrying of weapons.

Northfield Hall and Deighton area: 

  • ASB – To work with local community and partners to reduce ASB in the area. We will be increasing patrols in the area and working with Safer Kirklees, local schools and the community.  ASB legislation will be used to disrupt this behaviour where necessary. Ongoing partnership work has seen a real reduction in reports of anti-social behaviour in the area.

Ward area: Crossland Moor and Netherton

Local Priority Problem Solving Officer: PC 3109 Victoria Andrew

Walpole and Lockwood area: 

  • ASB/Drugs/Gangs – To target those involved in drug and gang related ASB around the area with a view to disrupting those involved.  We will increase patrols and work together with partner agencies to reduce drug related crime and ASB in the area using ASB legislation where necessary.

Update – November 2022

Incidents of gang related ASB have reduced significantly over the last three months. A number of disruptions to those involved have taken place and officers continue to patrol and monitor for any emerging issues.

Wooded Areas/Green Space: 

  • ASB Nuisance off road bikes - to deal with off road bikers causing nuisance to residents. We will be carrying out 'Days of Action' where possible and liaise with the Nuisance Bike team to combat this.

We continue to work with partners to deter the use of off road bikes. Our off road bike trained officers pay regular visits to the area to support the ongoing work.

 

Ward Area: Dalton

Local Priority Problem Solving Officer: PC 5033 Shilling

Dalton Cricket Club: 

  • Our Policing Teams are conducting targeted patrols in order to combat ongoing issues of Anti Social behaviour in the area.

The darker nights have seen an increase in ASB and damage in the area. Planned partnership patrols are taking place to speak to residents and identify those involved.

Town Avenue, Football Stadium area: 

  • ASB off road bikes - to deal with off road bikers causing nuisance to residents. We will be carrying out 'Days of Action' where possible and liaise with the Nuisance Bike Team to combat this.

We continue to work with partners to deter the use of off road bikes. Our off road bike trained officers pay regular visits to the area to support the ongoing work.

 

Ward Area: Greenhead

Local Priority Problem Solving Officers: PC 0596 Thornton, PC 6192 Bick

Greenhead Park: 

  • ASB – to engage with youths congregating in the area and divert them from ASB.  We will use the ASB legislation to disrupt this behaviour where necessary. There has been an increasing problem with electric bikes and scooters in the park, we will be increasing patrols in the area and working with the Greenhead Park team to tackle these issues.

The area continues to see minimal incidents.

Birkby, King Cliffe Flats:

  • ASB - to engage with youths congregating in the area and divert them from ASB. We will use the ASB legislation to disrupt this behaviour where necessary.

We continue to work with partners to deter the ASB within the flats. A number of interventions including arrests of those involved have taken place and continued patrols are planned.

Hillhouse area: 

  • ASB/Kerb crawlers – To work with partners to reduce ASB in the area. We will be increasing patrols in the area and working with Safer Kirklees and the community.  ASB legislation will be used to disrupt this behaviour where necessary.

The area remains a focus, however recent months have seen a decrease in issues.

Birkby and Edgerton: 

  • Road Safety/Speeding - To work with local schools to reduce accidents and encourage the safer use of roads. We will be increasing patrols in the area and conducting regular speed checks.

We continue to work with partners to deter drivers from speeding. This is a focus of the current road safety week of action, but is a key location for the NPT and Roads Policing officers.

 

Ward Area: Lindley

Local Priority Problem Solving Officer: PC 4030 Bryan

New Hey Road,Thornhill Avenue and Lidgett Street:

  • Speeding – To deal with motorists exceeding the speed limits by engagement and enforcement where necessary.  We will be increasing patrols in the area and conducting regular speed checks.

We continue to work with partners to deter drivers from speeding. This is a focus of the current road safety week of action, but is a key location for the NPT and Roads Policing officers.

Oakes area: 

There has been an increase of burglary offences in the Oakes area with both residential and commercial premises being targeted. Officers are focusing on the area and paying particular attention during the evening / nights when offences are more prevalent. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activity via 101, or if ongoing via 999.

There has been an increase in offences within the area and NPT officers are working closely with Detectives to identify those involved. Darker night patrols are in place and officers are continuing daytime reassurance patrols in areas affected.

 

Salendine Nook and Reinwood area: Set July 2022

  • ASB off road bikes - to deal with off road bikers causing nuisance to residents. We will be carrying out 'Days of Action' where possible and liaise with the Nuisance Bike Team to combat this.

Ward Area: Newsome

Local Priority Problem Solving Officers: PC 3022 Rickett, PC 2420 Clare

Huddersfield University: 

  • Officers will undertake increased patrols in the area during the darker nights, to combat burglary and to ensure members of the public feel safe.

Update – November 2022

We continue to work with the University and Students to prevent crime and are running various crime prevention events to provide students with tips on preventing crime.

Kirklees College/Chapel Hill: Set November 2022

  • Patrols are taking place with NPT and Kirklees College Officer to deter ASB and also prevent young people becoming involved in gangs.

Ward Area: Town Centre: 

Local Priority Lead Sergeant:  PS 3505 Holroyd

  • Day and night time ASB including begging and street drinking – To work with partners to create a safe and vibrant town centre for all.  We will increase patrols to monitor and manage any ongoing ASB issues.

Huddersfield Bus Station:

  • Following an increase in incidents of ASB in the Bus Station, targeted plans have been put in place to monitor, manage and reduce such incidents, whilst identifying and dealing with those involved.
