Ward Area: Almondbury

Local Priority Problem Solving Officer: PC 1900 Hardcastle

Castle Hill area: Set July 2021

  • ASB - To engage with youths gathering in the area and divert them from ASB and reduce incidents of ASB. We will be increasing patrols in the area and working with the community. 

Update November 2021

Over the bonfire period increased patrols were in place and although some fireworks were noted post event there were no reports of ASB or issues over the period.

Fenay Lane, Penistone Road, Tandem and surrounding areas: Set July 2021

  • Vehicle related ASB and Speeding – To deal with motorists exceeding speed limits and driving in an anti-social manner by engagement and enforcement where necessary. We will be increasing patrols in the area and conducting regular speed checks. These are refreshed priorities that have been highlighted through community intelligence.

Update November 2021

A number of days of action have taken place to deter speeding and educate drivers. These have clearly had an effect to deter issues however longer term partnership work continues.

Fernside: Set August 2021 

  • ASB - To engage with youths gathering in the area and divert them from ASB and reduce incidents of ASB. We will be increasing patrols in the areas and working with local schools and the community. ASB legislation will be used to disrupt this behaviour where necessary.

Update November 2021

ASB and re-assurance patrols have resulted in significant reductions in incidents in the area, however continued patrols are being maintained during darker nights.

Mereside: Set August 2021

  • ASB - To engage with youths gathering in the area and divert them from ASB and reduce incidents of ASB. We will be increasing patrols in the area and working with local schools and the community. ASB legislation will be used to disrupt this behaviour where necessary.

Update November 2021

Ward Area: Ashbrow

Local Priority Problem Solving Officer: PC 3766 Briggs

Fixby area: Set July 2021

  • Burglary – To proactively target individuals committing crime in the area with a view to reducing crime.  We will be increasing patrols in the area and conducting crime prevention visits and leaflet drops.  We will deviate shifts where possible for proactive patrols.  We will liaise with our District Crime Team and our District Intelligence Unit to identify current trends and intelligence.

Update November 2021

Burglary patrols have continued, targeting areas of concern and using powers including stop and search to prevent offences. These have been successful and offence numbers are reducing. Continued patrols and deterring those suspected of involvement in this type of crime.

Northfield Hall and Deighton area: Set July 2021

  • ASB – To work with local community and partners to reduce ASB in the area. We will be increasing patrols in the area and working with Safer Kirklees, local schools and the community.  ASB legislation will be used to disrupt this behaviour where necessary. Ongoing partnership work has seen a real reduction in reports of anti-social behaviour in the area.

Engagement work has continued with Team Kick Start regarding the use of off-road bike. ASB continues to reduce in the area.

Ripon Avenue and Cowcliffe Area: Set November 2021

  • Drugs and anti-social behaviour - To deal with reports of cannabis being supplied in area.  This is a new priority that has been highlighted through community intelligence.

Work has been ongoing regarding intel gathering and this has resulted in a number of cannabis factories being located and warrants executed. This has seen thousands of pounds worth of drugs confiscated and disruption of organised criminals.

 

Ward area: Crossland Moor and Netherton

Local Priority Problem Solving Officer: PC 1928 Mantle-Osborne

Walpole and Lockwood area: Set July 2021

  • ASB/Drugs/Gangs – To target those involved in drug and gang related ASB around the area with a view to disrupting those involved.  We will increase patrols and work together with partner agencies to reduce drug related crime and ASB in the area using ASB legislation where necessary.

Update November 2021

Ongoing work with partners to reduce crime ASB and gangs in the area. Offenders have been targeted and arrests made. Swan Lane, Lockwood: Set November 2021

  • ASB and Gangs – Swan Lane: To target those involved in drug and gang related ASB around the area with a view to disrupting those involved.  We will increase patrols and work together with partner agencies to reduce drug related crime and ASB in the area using ASB legislation where necessary.

Wooded Areas/green space: Set July 2021

  • ASB Nuisance off road bikes - to deal with off road bikers causing nuisance to residents. We will be carrying out 'Days of Action' where possible and liaise with the Nuisance Bike team to combat this.

Update November 2021

Off Road Bike Teams and NPT continue to attend these locations and reports have reduced of ASB therefore this priority will be finalised.

 

Ward Area: Dalton

Dalton Centre: Set July 2021

  • Drugs and gangs – To target those involved in drug related ASB and work with partners to reduce ASB.  We continue to increase patrols and work together with partner agencies to reduce drug related crime and ASB in the area using ASB legislation where necessary.

Town Avenue, Football Stadium area: Set November 2021

  • ASB off road bikes - to deal with off road bikers causing nuisance to residents.  We will be carrying out 'Days of Action' where possible and liaise with the Nuisance Bike Team to combat this.

 

Ward Area: Greenhead

Greenhead Park: Set July 2021

  • ASB – to engage with youths congregating in the area and divert them from ASB.  We will be increasing patrols in the area and working with Safer Kirklees and the community.  ASB legislation will be used to disrupt this behaviour where necessary.

Update November 2021

Ongoing work and patrols with partner agencies to prevent issues in the area. Engagement with students in the area to prevent offending and ensuring safety of those wishing to enjoy the area.

Birkby: Set July 2021

Incidents have reduced, however, Officers will continue to patrol the area to identify and deal with any issues if they increase. Ongoing partnership work continues.

Birkby and Edgerton: Set July 2021

  • Road Safety/Speeding - To work with local schools to reduce accidents and encourage the safer use of roads. We will be increasing patrols in the area and conducting regular speed checks.

Update November 2021

NPT officers along with Roads Policing have continued to patrol the area and deal with ASB use of the roads.

 

Ward Area: Lindley

Local Priority Problem Solving Officer: PC 5404 Hussain

New Hey Road,Thornhill Avenue and Lidgett Street: Set July 2021

  • Speeding – To deal with motorists exceeding the speed limits by engagement and enforcement where necessary.  We will be increasing patrols in the area and conducting regular speed checks.

NPT officers along with Roads Policing have continued to patrol the area and deal with ASB use of the roads.

Salendine Nook area: Set July 2021

  • ASB off road bikes – To deal with off road bikers causing a nuisance to residents.  We will be carrying out ‘Days of Action’ where possible and liaise with the Nuisance Bike Team to combat this.

Update November 2021

Off Road Bike and NPT officers have continued patrols in area to deal with anti-social use of bikes and this has now been displaced, therefore this priority will be closed.

Reinwood Fields: Set November 2021

  • ASB off road bikes – To deal with off road bikers causing a nuisance to residents.  We will be carrying out ‘Days of Action’ where possible and liaise with the Nuisance Bike Team to combat this. Off Road Bike and NPT officers will continue patrols in area to deal with anti-social use of bikes.

 

Lidgett Street and Union Street: Set July 2021 

  • ASB (Youth Nuisance) - Partnership work is ongoing to deter young people.

Update November 2021

Warnings have been issued to youths involved in ASB and the area will continue to be monitored during darker nights.

 

Ward Area: Newsome

Local Priority Problem Solving Officers: PC 3022 Rickett, PC 5044 Smith

Roads leading away from Castle Hill: Set July 2021

  • ASB – To engage with youths gathering in the area and divert them from ASB and reduce incidents of ASB.  We will be increasing patrols in the area and working with the community.  ASB legislation will be used to disrupt this behaviour where necessary. Ongoing partnership work in the area to reduce ASB.

Update November 2021

This has reduced since the intervention with regards the gate on the hill.  This priority has now been finalised.

Huddersfield University: Set November 2021

  • Officers will undertake increased patrols in the area during the darker nights, to combat burglary and to ensure members of the public feel safe.

Fanny Moor area: Set August 2021

  • ASB - To deal with neighbour ASB causing a nuisance to other residents. We will be working alongside partners, carrying out 'Days of Action' .

Update November 2021

Continued partnership work regarding incidents in the area that have seen increases in concerns from residents. Arrests made for offences and continued patrols will be implemented to deter and disrupt offenders.

Armitage Road: Set July 2021 

  • Vehicle use enforcement – Work with Partners to reduce the amount of heavy vehicles using the road causing traffic problems and damage to roads.  We will be increasing patrols in the area and conducting vehicle checks to ensure drivers are not breaching the road weight restrictions.

Update November 2021

Days of action have seen reductions in the use of the area by drivers of heavy vehicles therefore this priority will be finalised.

Springwood/Windrush Memorial: Set November 2021

  • ASB/Drugs – To target those involved in drug activity and ASB around the area with a view to disrupting those involved.  We will increase patrols and work together with partner agencies to reduce drug related crime and ASB in the area using ASB legislation where necessary.

 

Ward Area: Town Centre - Set July 2021

Local Priority Lead Sergeant:  PS 3505 Holroyd

  • Day and night time ASB including begging and street drinking – To work with partners to create a safe and vibrant town centre for all.  We will increase patrols to monitor and manage any ongoing ASB issues.

Update November 2021

Continued work by town centre team focussing on areas of concern to deal with ASB. These patrols are being increased on run up to Christmas with specific days of action to prevent crime and ASB.
