NEIGHBOURHOOD PRIORITIES

ALMONDBURY

Fenay Lane, Penistone Road, Tandem and surrounding areas

  • Vehicle related ASB and Speeding – To deal with motorists exceeding speed limits and driving in an anti-social manner by engagement and enforcement where necessary. We will be increasing patrols in the area and conducting regular speed checks. These are refreshed priorities that have been highlighted through community intelligence.

Lepton area

  • Burglary - To proactively target individuals committing crime in the area with a view to reducing crime.  We will be increasing patrols in the area and conducting crime prevention visits and leaflet drops.

Almondbury Village Centre

  • ASB - To engage with youths gathering in the area and divert them from ASB and reduce incidents of ASB.  We will be increasing patrols in the area and working with local schools and the community.  ASB legislation will be used to disrupt this behaviour where necessary. Ongoing partnership work has seen a real reduction in reports of anti-social behaviour in the area.

Greenside area

  • Burglary - To proactively target individuals committing crime in the area with a view to reducing crime.  Ongoing proactive work and target hardening work with crime prevention has seen some real reductions in offences.

ASHBROW

Fixby area

  • Burglary – To proactively target individuals committing crime in the area with a view to reducing crime.  We will be increasing patrols in the area and conducting crime prevention visits and leaflet drops.  We will deviate shifts where possible for proactive patrols.  We will liaise with our District Crime Team and our District Intelligence Unit to identify current trends and intelligence.

Netheroyd area

  • Drugs/ASB – To deal with reports of cannabis being supplied in the area.  We will increase patrols and work together with partner agencies to reduce drug related crime and ASB in the area using ASB legislation where necessary.  If you have any information in relation to this issue please ring 101 or Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111 or crimestoppers-uk.org

Northfield Hall and Deighton area

  • ASB – To work with local community and partners to reduce ASB in the area. We will be increasing patrols in the area and working with Safer Kirklees, local schools and the community.  ASB legislation will be used to disrupt this behaviour where necessary. Ongoing partnership work has seen a real reduction in reports of anti-social behaviour in the area.

Riddings and Bradley areas

  • Burglary - To proactively target individuals committing crime in the area with a view to reducing crime. Ongoing proactive work and target hardening work with crime prevention. This has seen some real reductions in offences.
     

Brackenhall

  • Drugs and anti-social behaviour - To deal with reports of cannabis being supplied in area.  This is a new priority that has been highlighted through community intelligence.

CROSSLAND MOOR AND NETHERTON

Anti-Social behaviour and Drugs - Walpole and Lockwood area

  • ASB/Drugs/Gangs – To target those involved in drug and gang related ASB around the area with a view to disrupting those involved.  We will increase patrols and work together with partner agencies to reduce drug related crime and ASB in the area using ASB legislation where necessary.  Ongoing partnership work has seen a real reduction in reports of anti-social behaviour in the area.  If you have any information in relation to this issue please ring 101 or Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111 or crimestoppers-uk.org

Wooded areas/green space

  • ASB Nuisance off road bikes – To deal with off road bikers causing nuisance to residents.  We will be carrying out ‘Days of Action’ where possible and liaise with the Nuisance Bike Team to combat this. Ongoing work with the use of police off-road bikes has seen a reduction in reports but work is still required and ongoing.

Netherton area

  • Drugs – to target those involved in street drug dealing and reduce associated ASB.  We will increase patrols and work together with partner agencies to reduce drug related crime and ASB in the area using ASB legislation where necessary. ASB operations have seen a number of significant arrests and groups dispersed. DALTON

Dalton Centre

  • Drugs and gangs – To target those involved in drug related ASB and work with partners to reduce ASB.  We will increase patrols and work together with partner agencies to reduce drug related crime and ASB in the area using ASB legislation where necessary.  Ongoing partnership work has seen a real reduction in reports of anti-social behaviour in the area. Harold Wilson Court

  • ASB – To work with partners to deal with individuals causing ASB in the building.  We will be increasing patrols in the area and working with Safer Kirklees and the community.  ASB legislation will be used to disrupt this behaviour where necessary.

Rawthorpe and Kirkheaton area

  • ASB off road bikes – To deal with off road bikers causing nuisance to residents.  We will be carrying out ‘Days of Action’ where possible and liaise with the Nuisance Bike Team to combat this. Ongoing work with the use of police off-road bikes has seen a reduction in reports but work is still required and ongoing.

Brown Royd

  • Burglary crime - To target those involved in burglary and other crime in the area with view to reducing crime.  Ongoing proactive work and target hardening work with crime prevention. This has seen some real reductions in offences

Kirkheaton area

  • Vehicle crime – To target those involved in vehicle and other crime in the area with a view to reducing crime.  We will issue Social media warnings/advice and community alerts to inform and educate members of the public about crime prevention.  We will create patrol plans based on hotspot areas at peak crime times.

GREENHEAD

Greenhead Park

  • ASB – to engage with youths congregating in the area and divert them from ASB.  We will be increasing patrols in the area and working with Safer Kirklees and the community.  ASB legislation will be used to disrupt this behaviour where necessary. Ongoing partnership work has seen a real reduction in reports of anti-social behaviour in the area.

Birkby

Hillhouse area

  • ASB/Kerb crawlers – To work with partners to reduce ASB in the area. We will be increasing patrols in the area and working with Safer Kirklees and the community.  ASB legislation will be used to disrupt this behaviour where necessary. Ongoing partnership work continues to see reductions in reports of anti-social behaviour in the area.

Birkby and Edgerton

  • Road Safety/Speeding - To work with local schools to reduce accidents and encourage the safer use of roads. We will be increasing patrols in the area and conducting regular speed checks. This New priority is to educate motorists to prevent road collisions.

LINDLEY

New Hey Road,Thornhill Avenue and Lidgett Street

  • Speeding – To deal with motorists exceeding the speed limits by engagement and enforcement where necessary.  We will be increasing patrols in the area and conducting regular speed checks. A number of speeding operations have resulted in reductions in incidents. Operations planned and ongoing.

Oakes and Salendine Nook area

  • Vehicle crime – To target those involved in vehicle and other crime in the area with a view to reducing crime.  We will issue Social media warnings/advice and community alerts to inform and educate members of the public about crime prevention.  We will create patrol plans based on hotspot areas at peak crime times.

Salendine Nook area

  • ASB off road bikes – To deal with off road bikers causing a nuisance to residents.  We will be carrying out ‘Days of Action’ where possible and liaise with the Nuisance Bike Team to combat this. Ongoing work with the use of police off-road bikes has seen a reduction in reports. Continued enforcement.

Lidgett Street

  • ASB (Youth Nuisance) - Partnership work is ongoing to deter young people.

NEWSOME

Whitegate Road and Damside area

  • Vehicle crime – To target those involved in vehicle and other crime in the area with a view to reducing crime.  We will issue Social media warnings/advice and community alerts to inform and educate members of the public about crime prevention.  We will create patrol plans based on hotspot areas at peak crime times.

Ashenhurst and Fanny Moor area

  • ASB off road bikes – To deal with off road bikes causing a nuisance to residents.  We will be carrying out ‘Days of Action’ where possible and liaise with the Nuisance Bike Team to combat this. Ongoing work with the use of police off-road bikes has seen a reduction in reports but work is still required and ongoing.

Armitage Road

  • Vehicle use enforcement – Work with Partners to reduce the amount of heavy vehicles using the road causing traffic problems and damage to roads.  We will be increasing patrols in the area and conducting vehicle checks to ensure drivers are not breaching the road weight restrictions.

Primrose Hill

  • Burglary - To target those involved in burglary and other crime in the area with a view to reducing crime.  Ongoing proactive work and target hardening work with crime prevention has seen some real reductions in offences.

TOWN CENTRE

  • Day time and night time ASB including begging and street drinking – To work with partners to create a safe and vibrant town centre for all.  We will increase patrols to monitor and manage any ongoing ASB issues. Ongoing partnership work has seen a real reduction in reports of anti-social behaviour in the area.
