WARD AREA ALMONDBURY

Castle Hill area :Set July 2021

  • ASB - To engage with youths gathering in the area and divert them from ASB and reduce incidents of ASB. We will be increasing patrols in the area and working with the community. 

Update September 2021

A barrier has been erected to prevent vehicular access to Castle Hill which appears to have reduced ASB. However, work continues to ensure that ASB is not displayed into the wider community. ASB legislation will be used to disrupt this behaviour where necessary.

Fenay Lane, Penistone Road, Tandem and surrounding areas: Set July 2021

  • Vehicle related ASB and Speeding – To deal with motorists exceeding speed limits and driving in an anti-social manner by engagement and enforcement where necessary. We will be increasing patrols in the area and conducting regular speed checks. These are refreshed priorities that have been highlighted through community intelligence.

Fernside and Mereside areas: Set August 2021 

  • ASB - To engage with youths gathering in the areas and divert them from ASB and reduce incidents of ASB. We will be increasing patrols in the areas and working with local schools and the community. ASB legislation will be used to disrupt this behaviour where necessary.

Update September 2021

Ongoing partnership work has seen a real reduction in reports of anti-social behaviour in the area. Several "Directions to Leave" and arrests have been made which have seen reductions in incidents. Neighbourhood Watches have also been set up and are seeing a renewed cohesion in the areas to prevent crime and ASB. 

 

WARD AREA ASHBROW

Fixby area: Set July 2021

  • Burglary – To proactively target individuals committing crime in the area with a view to reducing crime.  We will be increasing patrols in the area and conducting crime prevention visits and leaflet drops.  We will deviate shifts where possible for proactive patrols.  We will liaise with our District Crime Team and our District Intelligence Unit to identify current trends and intelligence.

Ongoing work using the "Easy Street" campaign to reduce offending and prevent crime.

Northfield Hall and Deighton area: Set July 2021

  • ASB – To work with local community and partners to reduce ASB in the area. We will be increasing patrols in the area and working with Safer Kirklees, local schools and the community.  ASB legislation will be used to disrupt this behaviour where necessary. Ongoing partnership work has seen a real reduction in reports of anti-social behaviour in the area.

Brackenhall: Set July 2021

  • Drugs and anti-social behaviour - To deal with reports of cannabis being supplied in area.  This is a new priority that has been highlighted through community intelligence.

A number of locations have been identified and warrants executed resulting in recovery of drugs.

 

Ward area CROSSLAND MOOR AND NETHERTON

Anti-Social behaviour and Drugs - Walpole and Lockwood area: Set July 2021

  • ASB/Drugs/Gangs – To target those involved in drug and gang related ASB around the area with a view to disrupting those involved.  We will increase patrols and work together with partner agencies to reduce drug related crime and ASB in the area using ASB legislation where necessary.

Wooded areas/green space: Set July 2021

  • ASB Nuisance off road bikes – To deal with off road bikers causing nuisance to residents.  We will be carrying out ‘Days of Action’ where possible and liaise with the Nuisance Bike Team to combat this.

Ongoing work with the use of police off-road bikes has seen a reduction in reports but work is still required and ongoing.

Ongoing work with "Team Kick Start" to divert young people from ASB use of off-road bikes.

 

Ward area DALTON: Set July 2021

Dalton Centre

  • Drugs and gangs – To target those involved in drug related ASB and work with partners to reduce ASB.  We continue to increase patrols and work together with partner agencies to reduce drug related crime and ASB in the area using ASB legislation where necessary.

  • ASB off road bikes – To deal with off road bikers causing nuisance to residents.  We will be carrying out ‘Days of Action’ where possible and liaise with the Nuisance Bike Team to combat this.

Ward area GREENHEAD

Greenhead Park: Set July 2021

  • ASB – to engage with youths congregating in the area and divert them from ASB.  We will be increasing patrols in the area and working with Safer Kirklees and the community.  ASB legislation will be used to disrupt this behaviour where necessary.

Birkby: Set July 2021

Hillhouse area: Set July 2021

  • ASB/Kerb crawlers – To work with partners to reduce ASB in the area. We will be increasing patrols in the area and working with Safer Kirklees and the community.  ASB legislation will be used to disrupt this behaviour where necessary.

Update September 2021

We have increased patrols in the area and are working with Safer Kirklees, Outreach teams and the community. Ongoing partnership work continues to see reductions in reports of ASB in the area.

Birkby and Edgerton: Set July 2021

  • Road Safety/Speeding - To work with local schools to reduce accidents and encourage the safer use of roads. We will be increasing patrols in the area and conducting regular speed checks.

Update September 2021

Days of action are being planned with partner agencies and Roads Policing Officers.

 

Ward area LINDLEY

New Hey Road,Thornhill Avenue and Lidgett Street: Set July 2021

  • Speeding – To deal with motorists exceeding the speed limits by engagement and enforcement where necessary.  We will be increasing patrols in the area and conducting regular speed checks.

Update September 2021

A number of speeding operations have resulted in reductions in incidents. Operations planned and ongoing.

Salendine Nook area: Set July 2021

  • ASB off road bikes – To deal with off road bikers causing a nuisance to residents.  We will be carrying out ‘Days of Action’ where possible and liaise with the Nuisance Bike Team to combat this.

Update September 2021

Ongoing work with the use of police off-road bikes has seen a reduction in reports. Continued enforcement.

Staff are also working with "Team Kick Start" in relation to diverting young people from ASB use of off - road bikes.

Lidgett Street and Union Street: Set July 2021 

  • ASB (Youth Nuisance) - Partnership work is ongoing to deter young people.

Update September 2021

Ongoing problem solving in relation to groups of youths gathering. Identifying those involved and issuing warnings.

 

Ward area NEWSOME

Roads leading away from Castle Hill: Set July 2021

  • ASB – To engage with youths gathering in the area and divert them from ASB and reduce incidents of ASB.  We will be increasing patrols in the area and working with the community.  ASB legislation will be used to disrupt this behaviour where necessary. Ongoing partnership work in the area to reduce ASB.

Update September 2021

The implementation of barriers at Castle Hill has reduced issues there, however we are monitoring issues in the wider area to ensure incidents aren't being moved.

Fanny Moor area: Set August 2021

  • ASB- To deal with neighbour ASB causing a nuisance to other residents. We will be working alongside partners, carrying out 'Days of Action' .

Update September 2021

Ongoing work with partners has reduced ASB reports.

Armitage Road: Set July 2021 

  • Vehicle use enforcement – Work with Partners to reduce the amount of heavy vehicles using the road causing traffic problems and damage to roads.  We will be increasing patrols in the area and conducting vehicle checks to ensure drivers are not breaching the road weight restrictions.

Ward area TOWN CENTRE: Set July 2021

  • Day and night time ASB including begging and street drinking – To work with partners to create a safe and vibrant town centre for all.  We will increase patrols to monitor and manage any ongoing ASB issues.
