Ward Area: Almondbury

Local Priority Problem Solving Officer: PC 1900 Hardcastle

Fernside: Set August 2021

  • ASB - To engage with youths gathering in the area and divert them from ASB and reduce incidents of ASB. We will be increasing patrols in the areas and working with local schools and the community. ASB legislation will be used to disrupt this behaviour where necessary.

Update February / March 2022

We continue to monitor and patrol this area, and this will form part of our plans as we move into the Spring and Summer.

Bus Damage / Anti-Social Behaviour Almondbury: Set January 2022

  • A number of reports have been received of damage being caused to buses and other vehicles travelling through Almondbury. Officers will be focusing on this and working with the bus companies to deal with those involved.

Update February / March 2022

We have been working with First Bus and at present we have not seen any reports of these incidents, but will continue our regular patrols.

 

Ward Area: Ashbrow

Brackenhall and Deighton Area: Set March 2022

  • Reduce ASB and youth related violence.

Northfield Hall and Deighton area: Set July 2021

  • ASB – To work with local community and partners to reduce ASB in the area. We will be increasing patrols in the area and working with Safer Kirklees, local schools and the community.  ASB legislation will be used to disrupt this behaviour where necessary. Ongoing partnership work has seen a real reduction in reports of anti-social behaviour in the area.

Update February / March 2022

We have seen a number of incidents in the area, and are working with schools and youth outreach teams to engage with young people, and to prevent knife crime.

 

Ward area: Crossland Moor and Netherton

Local Priority Problem Solving Officer: PC 1928 Mantle-Osborne

Walpole and Lockwood area: Set July 2021

  • ASB/Drugs/Gangs – To target those involved in drug and gang related ASB around the area with a view to disrupting those involved.  We will increase patrols and work together with partner agencies to reduce drug related crime and ASB in the area using ASB legislation where necessary.

Update February / March 2022

Ongoing work has resulted in reduced incidents within the area, and we are working closely with partners regarding the use of the community centre for events.

Wooded Areas/Green Space: Set July 2021

  • ASB Nuisance off road bikes - to deal with off road bikers causing nuisance to residents. We will be carrying out 'Days of Action' where possible and liaise with the Nuisance Bike team to combat this.

Update February / March 2022

We have conducted days of action regarding off road bikes and will continue to do so, and work with Team KickStart to reduce the illegal use of off road bikes.

 

Ward Area: Dalton

Local Priority Problem Solving Officers: PC 5033 Shilling, PC 2206 Beazley

Ravensknowle Park / Tolson Museum: Set March 2022

  • Youth related Anti-Social Behaviour - targeted patrol plans have been put in place to reduce incidents of ASB in the area.

Dalton Cricket Club: Set March 2022

  • Our Policing Teams are conducting targeted patrols in order to combat ongoing issues of Anti Social behaviour in the area.

Town Avenue, Football Stadium area: Set November 2021

  • ASB off road bikes - to deal with off road bikers causing nuisance to residents. We will be carrying out 'Days of Action' where possible and liaise with the Nuisance Bike Team to combat this.

Update February / March 2022

We are working with stadium and cinema staff regarding incidents of ASB in the area, and are identifying and dealing with those involved.

 

Ward Area: Greenhead

Local Priority Problem Solving Officers: PC 0596 Thornton, PC 6192 Bick

Greenhead Park: Set March 2022

  • ASB – to engage with youths congregating in the area and divert them from ASB.  We will use the ASB legislation to disrupt this behaviour where necessary. There has been an increasing problem with electric bikes and scooters in the park, we will be increasing patrols in the area and working with the Greenhead Park team to tackle these issues. 

Update February / March 2022

The area is regularly patrolled by Officers and we are working with the park's team to identify and deal with anyone illegally using E-scooters in the area.

Birkby, King Cliffe Flats: Set March 2022

  • ASB - to engage with youths congregating in the area and divert them from ASB. We will use the ASB legislation to disrupt this behaviour where necessary.

Hillhouse area: Set July 2021

  • ASB/Kerb crawlers – To work with partners to reduce ASB in the area. We will be increasing patrols in the area and working with Safer Kirklees and the community.  ASB legislation will be used to disrupt this behaviour where necessary.

Update February / March 2022

We have increased patrols in the area, in particular Willow Lane, and this has reduced incidents.  Work will continue with partners to continue reducing ASB.

Birkby and Edgerton: Set July 2021

  • Road Safety/Speeding - To work with local schools to reduce accidents and encourage the safer use of roads. We will be increasing patrols in the area and conducting regular speed checks.

Update February / March 2022

Work continues during school drop off times and we will work in conjunction with roads policing for planned days of action.

 

Ward Area: Lindley

Local Priority Problem Solving Officers: PCSO Tariq, PCSO Cornwall & PCSO Taylor

New Hey Road,Thornhill Avenue and Lidgett Street: Set July 2021

  • Speeding – To deal with motorists exceeding the speed limits by engagement and enforcement where necessary.  We will be increasing patrols in the area and conducting regular speed checks.

Update February / March 2022

Days of action continue to tackle incidents of speeding.

Oakes area: Set January 2022

There has been an increase of burglary offences in the Oakes area with both residential and commercial premises being targeted. Officers are focusing on the area and paying particular attention during the evening / nights when offences are more prevalent. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activity via 101, or if ongoing via 999.

Update February / March 2022

We are still focusing on the area, particularly incidents of ASB and burglaries at the Focal Community Centre.

 

 

Ward Area: Newsome

Local Priority Problem Solving Officers: PC 3022 Rickett, PC 5044 Smith

Huddersfield University: Set November 2021

  • Officers will undertake increased patrols in the area during the darker nights, to combat burglary and to ensure members of the public feel safe.

Update February / March 2022

Our darker nights plans have now been refreshed and will now focus on summer plans. Officers will continue to work with students whilst they are residing in the area.

Primrose Hill: Set April 2022

  • Patrols will be increased in the area in order to deter incidents of 'sneak in burglaries' during the lighter/warmer months.

 

Ward Area: Town Centre: Set July 2021

Local Priority Lead Sergeant:  PS 1623 Teal

  • Day and night time ASB including begging and street drinking – To work with partners to create a safe and vibrant town centre for all.  We will increase patrols to monitor and manage any ongoing ASB issues.

Update February / March 2022

The international market is now in full swing and our dedicated Town Centre team continue to work with partners to keep the area safe and free of ASB.

Huddersfield Bus Station - Set April 2022

  • Following an increase in incidents of ASB in the Bus Station, targeted plans have been put in place to monitor, manage and reduce such incidents, whilst identifying and dealing with those involved.
