Neighbourhood Priorities

 

Mabgate Area

To target Theft of Motor Vehicle and Theft from Motor Vehicle, specifically around Trafalgar Street, Mabgate and North Street

We will do this by increasing high visibility patrols in these areas and working with the community to identify offenders, taking action on intelligence received.

High Visibility Patrols to prevent and detect Violent Crime and Knife Crime within the night time economy, particularly on weekends.

We will do this by working in partnership with statutory and voluntary partners, using legislation where appropriate to reduce opportunities for offending.

 

Waterfront Area

To target Theft of Motor Vehicle and Theft from Motor Vehicle, specifically around Trafalgar Street, Mabgate and North Street. 

We will do this by increasing high visibility patrols in these areas and working with the community to identify offenders, taking action on intelligence received.

Disrupt and engage with those causing a nuisance particularly around the area, targeting the Misuse of Drugs and Ant-Social Behaviour.

We will do this by increasing visibility in this area and use ASB legislation if required to prevent offenders returning to this location if warnings are not followed.

 

Aireside & Civic Quarter

To target Theft of Motor Vehicle and Theft from Motor Vehicle, specifically around Trafalgar Street, Mabgate and North Street. 

We will do this by increasing high visibility patrols in these areas and working with the community to identify offenders, taking action on intelligence received.

To disrupt and reduce Burglary offences.

We will do this by working with the community to ensure crime reduction advice is provided prior to offences occurring and working proactively to identify any offenders.

 

Retail Area

To engage and disrupt those begging, rough sleeping, street drinking and acting in an anti-social manner in and around Boar Lane, Briggate & Vicar Lane. 

We will do this by working in partnership with Safer Leeds Street Support Team to provide support and guidance to those who find themselves living on the streets and utilise ASB legislation where necessary.

High Visibility Patrols to prevent and detect Violent Crime and Knife Crime within the night time economy, particularly on weekends.

We will do this by working in partnership with statutory and voluntary partners, using legislation where appropriate to reduce opportunities for offending.

To reduce calls for service in relation to theft from shop offences.

We will do this by working with partners within the retail areas to provide support and guidance to the retail and business community to reduce opportunities for offending and to take positive action against offenders.

To target inconsiderate parking and anti-social vehicle use to improve Road Safety particularly around car park facilities within the City Centre.

We will do this by increasing patrols in these areas, issuing penalty notices to vehicles causing obstructions and using Section 59 Police Reform Act 2002 to issue warnings to those using vehicles in an anti-social manner.
