Neighbourhood Priorities

To work closely with partner agencies to address the issues of Anti Social Behaviour and crime in the following areas:-

The Warwick Estate - Knottingley - Anti Social Behaviour and illegal use of Motorbikes.
We are increasing officers in both Knottingley and on our Off Road Motorbike Team to target ASB and the illegal use of Motorbikes in the Knottingley area. We are also working closely with partners in WDH, WMDC and Social Services to tackle offenders. Collectively we have more powers which allows us to use a mutli pronged approach when dealing with offenders.

Valley Gardens - Pontefract - Anti Social Behaviour.
This area is on your local officers patrols plan, recent patrols have not seen any great issues. However with the hot summer months upon us, we are mindful that the park could attract some ASB. We will continue patrols and take positive action if ASB is witnessed or reported to us.

South Kirkby - Illegal use of Motorbikes.
We have seen a number of successes recently with the deployment of officers using Selecta DNA. This is a spray with has a unique identity. It has now been sprayed on a number of people riding motorbikes illegally and two prolific offenders are currently in prison as a result.

Hemsworth - Anti Social Behaviour around Tesco.
We have responded to reports of young people gathering around this store by increasing high visibility and covert patrols. We are working with the Anti Social behaviour Team, WDH, local Schools and the Management and Security at the store. Recent patrols have not seen any young people gathering, but we will continue to patrol and work closely with our partners.
