Wards 1, 7, 14: Ackworth, North Elmsall, Upton, Hemsworth, South Elmsall and South Kirkby.

  • Tackle and disrupt the illegal supply of drugs in all areas of Wakefield South East. We are committed to investigating and developing intelligence received in relation to drugs. Whether that be in relation to possession, dealing or production. We have successfully executed numerous warrants in recent months and will continue to execute more.   • Tesco Hemsworth - Anti Social Behaviour. We are working closely with management at Tesco, Wakefield Council ASB Unit, Local Elected Members and Youth Intervention services to ensure members of the community can shop in a pleasant environment free of Anti-Social Behaviour. We will continue to provide high visibility patrols and engage with the youths involved. Disrupt activities and enforce the law where necessary.                                                                                                                        
  • Anti-social vehicle use, off-road bikes, quads and speeding vehicles. We will increase patrols in and around local businesses,  parks,  and schools. We will increase the number of patrols and enforceable speeding operations. We will work with Police specialist units and in partnership with the local authority, taking positive action against offenders.

Update February 2022:

  • Illegal drugs supply - Through acting on intelligence provided by our communities we were able to identify a cannabis farm in the Hemsworth area.  A male was arrested after trying to flee the address.  We were also able to identify a cannabis farm in the South Elmsall area which has now been dismantled and enquiries are ongoing.                                                                                                                                           
  • Tesco Hemsworth – Reports of ASB in the area have dropped but we are continuing to keep a presence in the area and work with our partners to deter and disrupt ASB                                                                                                                                                                    
  • Anti-Social Behaviour – We are currently working with a local community group to deliver pop up activities across the 3 wards to divert young people away from ASB. 
     

Ward 5: Crofton, Ryhill, Walton

  • Anti-social behaviour around the Crofton area. We will increase high visibility patrols in the Crofton area to disrupt and engage with youths. Working in partnership with WMDC ASB Officers and our own Early Intervention Team, to identify individuals and encourage / prevent youths from returning to this area. We will work with partners to identify a more suitable area / location for them to attend.                                                                                                               
  • Anti-social Vehicle use and speeding on Greenside and Oakenshaw Lane, Walton. We will increase patrols in the area and run speeding operations on and around these locations, taking positive action against offenders. 

Update May 2022: 

  • To help tackle the increase in anti-social behaviour within the Crofton area, increased patrols have continued within this area to help disrupt any anti-social behaviour.                                                                
  • We continue to conduct Traffic operations within the area, targeting areas identified by the local community, residents and Councillors. These operations have been designed to target road users travelling at excessive speeds utilising both the pro-laser speed gun and Smiley SID. These operations will continue over the coming months and the results will be published on Facebook and Community Alert.


Ward 18: Wakefield Rural (Middlestown, Netherton, Overton, Midgely, Bretton, Woolley, Hall Green, Painthorpe, Chapelthorpe, Crigglestone, Durkar, Newmillderdam, Calder Park)

  • Anti-Social Vehicle use and speeding on Old Road Middlestown and and Durkar Lane, Crigglestone. We will increase patrols in the area and run speeding operations, taking positive action against offenders.                                                                                                                                                                                                               
  • Anti-social behaviour around the Crigglestone area. We will increase high visibility patrols in the Crigglestone area to disrupt and engage with youths. Working in partnership with WMDC ASB Officers and our own Early Intervention Team, to identify individuals and encourage / prevent youths from returning to this area. We will work with partners to identify a more suitable area / location for them to attend.

  • We continue to run Traffic operations in the Ward 18 area targeting areas of speeding as identified by the local community, residents and Councillors. These operations have been designed to target road users travelling at excessive speeds utilising both the pro-laser speed gun and Smiley SID. These operations will continue over the coming months.                                                                         
  • We continue to with our partner agencies to tackle the increase in anti-social behaviour within the Crigglestone area. We have increased patrols to help disrupt any anti-social behaviour and with the help of our partners, WMDC ASB Team and iSpace will continue to do so in the coming months. 

 

Ward 19: Wakefield South (Agbrigg, Belle Vue, Sandal, Kettlethorpe)

  • Tackle and disrupt the supply of drugs and street dealing in the Agbrigg area. We are committed to investigating and developing intelligence received in relation to drugs. Working with the community and taking action on reports and intelligence received.   • Anti-social Vehicle use and speeding on Barnsley Road, Sandal. We will increase patrols in the area and run speeding operations on and around these locations, taking positive action against offenders. 

Update May 2022: 

  • Over the past few months, several warrants have been executed within the Ward 19 area tackling both Class A and Class B drugs the results of which have been shared on Facebook, Community Alert and the media.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     
  • Several traffic operations have been run over the last few months targeting areas of speeding as identified by the local community, residents and Councillors. These operations have been designed to target road users travelling at excessive speeds utilising both the Pro-laser and Smiley SID devices. These operations will continue over the coming months.  

 

Wards 8, 11: Horbury, South Ossett, Ossett, Gawthorpe

  • Address and deal positively with anti-social behaviour and street level drug dealing in and around Ossett Bus Station, Skate Park and Horbury Town Centre. We will do this by working with partners to identify and deal positively with offenders and working with the community, taking action on reports and intelligence received.
