Appeal After Cyclist Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries, Wakefield

Roads policing officers are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in Wakefield in which a male cyclist suffered life-threatening injuries. 

The collision happened shortly after 4:55pm yesterday (3/9) and involved an electric-powered bicycle which was in collision with a lamppost on a footpath on the A6194 Neil Fox Way in Wakefield. No other vehicles were involved. 

The male, aged in his 60s, was taken to hospital with serious head injuries. 

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, particularly passing motorists who may have dashcam footage, is asked to contact West Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Unit by calling 101 or go online at quoting reference 1331 of 3/9.
