Appeal: Distraction Burglary, Easterly Avenue, in Leeds

Police are releasing an image of a male they would like to speak to in connection with a distraction burglary.

The incident happened on 29 June at around 7pm at an address in Easterly Avenue in Gipton, Leeds.

The suspect approached a house and asked the elderly female victim if she needed a window cleaner.

The victim declines, but the suspect then asks if he can have a drink of water and allows him into the house.

The male suspect then enters the victim’s living room, complementing the house, he did not ask for a drink and the victim asked him to leave. A purse was taken from the property and the suspect left on foot.
