Appeal: Fatal Collision, Gledhow Valley Road, Leeds

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision between a car and a pedestrian in Leeds.

The Major Collision and Enquiry Team ( MCET) would like to speak to anyone who saw or has information about the incident which occurred today ( 21 12 2019)  at about 1.03pm at Gledhow Valley Road, near to the junction with Harrogate Road.

It took place after a pink Fiat 500 was in collision with a man in his 60s.

The man was taken to hospital by air ambulance but died from injuries caused by the collision.

Sergeant Carl Quinn of the Major Collision and Enquiry Team, said: “This has clearly been a very serious incident and we are appealing for witnesses to what took place.

“I would ask anyone who we have not already spoken with who saw the collision or who has dashcam footage of it to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team.  We would also like to speak with anyone who saw the man who died or the car involved just prior to the incident.

“Road closures are expected to be in place for some time and I would urge drivers to bear with us and avoid the area while we conduct necessary enquiries there.

“Anyone who has information is asked to contact MCET on 101 referencing police log 0944 of 21 12 2019.”
