Appeal: Road Traffic Collision, Overthorpe Road, Dewsbury

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in Dewsbury.

The collision happened at 17:30 last night (13 November) on Overthorpe Road at the junction with Slaithwaite Road.

A silver Toyota Corolla was travelling from Dewsbury on Slaithewaite Road and turned right onto Overthorpe Road when the car collided with a pedestrian.

The 70-year-old male pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment and remains in hospital in a stable condition.

The road was closed whilst emergency services were at the scene, but reopened around 1am this morning (14 November).

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has any dashcam footage is asked to contact the police via 101 quoting log number 1350 of 13 November or via the West Yorkshire Police website.
