Appeal: Robbery, Bennett Lane Stores, Leeds Road, in Dewsbury

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a robbery at a shop in Dewsbury last night.

The incident happened on Thursday 22 February at around 8:20pm at the Bennett Lane Stores, on Leeds Road.

Four males entered the shop armed with weapons and demanded cigarettes from the shop keeper.

The shop keeper refused and the suspects started to damage property in the shop and caused a small cut on the shopkeeper’s hand.

The first suspect is described as a white male, 5ft 6-8”, medium build. He was wearing a grey hoody, black bottoms, trainers, balaclava and spoke in a local accent.

The second suspect is described as a white male, 5ft 10” – 6ft tall, athletic build and wearing dark trousers and a balaclava.

The third is described as a white male, 6ft, athletic slim build and wearing a balaclava and dark trousers.

The fourth suspects is described as a white male, 5ft 6”, stocky build and was wearing a balaclava and dark trousers.

Enquiries are ongoing.
