Appeal: Robbery, Trevelyan Square, Leeds

Police are issuing images of two people they want to speak with in connection with a robbery and an assault in Leeds city centre.

Leeds District CID would like to speak to anyone who can identify the pair who they wish to speak to following an incident on Trevelyan Square, Leeds at about 10.50pm on July 9.

It occurred after the victim, a 37-year-old man, was approached by a man and woman while he was sitting on a wall.

He told the victims he was lost and accepted an offer from them to show him the way to the bus station.

After a few minutes he was assaulted by the man however and knocked to the floor.

Both suspects then searched his pockets before leaving the area in a taxi.

DC Rob Kennerley of Leeds District CID, said:  “Enquiries are ongoing into this offence and we would like to speak to anyone who can help us identify the man and woman pictured.

“Anyone who can help us identify them, or who saw the assault on the victim is asked to contact myself at Leeds District CID on 101 referencing crime number 13170313919.

“Information can also be given to the independent Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
