Appeal for Witnesses After Fatal Road Traffic Collision in Shepley

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Shepley last night.

Officers were called at 22:43 last night (Monday 5 November) to reports of a collision involving two cars.

A black Toyota Yaris was travelling northbound along the A629 Penistone Road, in Shepley and a silver VW Passat was travelling in the opposite direction.

There was a collision between the two vehicles and the driver of the black Toyota suffered serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary.

The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured.

The male, in his 30s, who was injured, later died in hospital as a result of his injuries.

Enquiries are ongoing.
