Crow Wood Park Efit

Police in Halifax have released an Efit of man they would like to speak to in connection with an incident at Crow Wood Park on Wednesday February 1.

The incident occurred around 3.30pm, when a woman and her 4 year-old son were playing in the playground. An unknown male has approached the boy and tried to lead him away as his mother was looking in her handbag. The man ran off out of the park when the boy’s mother shouted at him.

The man is described as being around 5"9" tall, in his late 30's of slim build with short dark brown hair, a thin face and sunken eyes. He was wearing a dark grey or black coloured hooded top with Adidas emblem on the chest. He was also wearing grey coloured jogging bottoms.

Detective Constable James Taylor of Calderdale CID said; "Clearly this incident has caused great distress to the child's mother, and to the young boy who was thankfully unhurt. I would appeal to anyone who may have been in the park around the time of the incident and may have any information, or who can help identify the person in the Efit to come forward. Enquiries are ongoing."

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Taylor at Calderdale Safeguarding Unit via 101 quoting 13170053821. Information can also be passed to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
