Partner Agencies Team Up For Child Safeguarding Event

Wednesday, 26 June 2019

Police and partner agencies will be in Bradford city centre on Friday (28 June) to raise awareness of the criminal and sexual exploitation of children.

The partnership event which is being held as part of West Yorkshire Safeguarding Week (24-30 June), takes place in the Broadway Shopping Centre between 12pm and 4pm and will feature representatives from some of the agencies who work together to protect children from exploitation in Bradford District.

The event is open to all, and it is hoped that parents and carers in particular will come along to find out more about how to spot the signs of exploitation and how they can report it.

Members of the Bradford District Safeguarding Team will be in attendance, along with partners from agencies such as Barnardo’s and the NHS.

Detective Chief Inspector Steve Greenbank, West Yorkshire Police’s child safeguarding lead in Bradford, said:

“Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and we encourage people to come along to this event and find out more about how police and partners work together to protect children from being exploited in Bradford District.”
